Lodovico Corsini is a contemporary art gallery based in Brussels representing international emerging and established artists, as well as estates. The gallery develops an exhibition programme alongside collaborations with institutions and participation in international art fairs.
We are looking for a creative, highly organised, and detail-oriented Gallery Assistant to join our team. This role focuses on digital asset management, media and communications, photo production, and supporting the gallery’s overall online presence and daily operations.
Working closely with the Director and team, the Gallery Assistant plays a key role in content creation, artist liaison, press relations, and ensuring smooth day-to-day gallery operations. As part of a small and dynamic team, the role requires autonomy, flexibility, strong visual literacy, and excellent organisational skills.
Functieomschrijving
- Image & Database Management: Maintaining, organising, and archiving artwork inventory, high-resolution photography, and database systems (e.g. Artlogic).
- Media Production & Photo Editing: Basic post-production/editing of exhibition and artwork photography; supervising photoshoot logistics for artworks, exhibitions, and gallery events.
- Social Media & Digital Strategy: Managing, scheduling, and expanding the gallery’s presence across social media channels and growing our digital audience.
- Website Management: Regularly updating the gallery website with new exhibitions, news, press coverage, and artist profiles.
- Press & Communications: Drafting and distributing press releases, newsletters, preview dossiers, and press kits.
- Exhibition Materials: Assisting in the preparation and design of exhibition materials, wall texts, sales PDFs, and catalogues.
- Artist Liaison Support: Acting as a primary point of contact for artists regarding media materials, photographic assets, and exhibition production needs.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Assisting with general front-of-house duties, visitor reception, office administration, and gallery upkeep.
Profiel
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
- Background or proven experience in visual communications, photography management, or gallery/museum administration.
- Strong photography skills and experience are considered a major plus
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Familiarity with Artlogic or similar gallery databases is strongly preferred.
- Experience in basic photo editing, colour correction, and supervising photography shoots.
- Excellent written communication skills with experience drafting press materials or copy for social media.
- Strong organisational skills with a meticulous eye for visual and editorial detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, dynamic, and dependable.
- Flexibility regarding working hours is required (e.g. during exhibition openings, events or art fairs).
Aanbod
- Full-time position (Tuesday–Saturday).
- On-site position in Brussels within a dynamic contemporary art setting.
