Functieomschrijving

As a grant coordinator, you will focus on the internal development of Ettijahat in various areas, such as shaping the fundraising strategy, improving monitoring and evaluation processes and developing HR policy.

You are an experienced professional with a demonstrable commitment to arts and culture and/or the non-profit field. You work proactively, independently and in a team, and you can effectively divide your attention between multiple responsibilities. In addition, you have a keen eye for detail, a highly developed critical thinking ability and excellent persuasive writing skills in English.

As one of the defining representatives of Ettijahat, you have strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Research and evaluate available funding opportunities. Work closely with the team to develop, write and submit competitive funding proposals based on donor guidelines and requirements, and aligned with Ettijahat's program strategies and policies. Lead the implementation of the organization's fundraising strategy, working closely with the Ettijahat Executive Director.

  • Provide support for fundraising events and campaigns. Represent Ettijahat at public forums such as cluster meetings, international conferences, donor events and fundraising competitions to increase the visibility of the organization where necessary. Contribute to training and capacity building for the Ettijahat team in developing proposals and preparing reports.

Grant management

  • Establish and manage grant management systems, ensuring that the Ettijahat team is fully aware of donors’ contractual, programmatic and financial requirements, including deadlines and deliverables. Lead or support the preparation and submission of programmatic reports to donors and other stakeholders, in close collaboration with the Ettijahat team.

  • Maintain and make accessible comprehensive grant files for the Ettijahat core team. Support the training and capacity building of the Ettijahat team in grant management. Write and edit Ettijahat periodical and external reports in English. Work closely with the Communications Manager to ensure coordination between the funding plans and Ettijahat social media platforms and website. This coordination is aimed at both beneficiaries and the general public.

Monitoring and evaluation

  • Provide support for Ettijahat’s organisational and legal tasks in both Belgium and Lebanon, and represent the organisation in this capacity when required. Develop a solid monitoring and evaluation structure, including programme workflows and logical frameworks, to ensure that project objectives are achieved and reported according to requirements.

  • Ensure secure, up-to-date and accessible storage of beneficiary data for reporting purposes. Have a thorough understanding of donor policies, regulations, procedures and compliance requirements, and effectively transfer this knowledge to other team members. Contribute to the annual work planning and budgeting process to analyse programme growth and identify priority areas for development.

Profiel

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Strong writing and editing skills in English. Excellent desk research skills and ability to analyze and summarize information concisely.

  • Demonstrable experience in drawing up detailed project plans and proposals. Experience in developing grant applications within the Belgian cultural sector and the European Union is a plus. Independent in organizing own work and capable of working alone. Possess excellent organizational skills, strong time management and a proactive, motivated attitude.

  • Highly organized and reliable, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Aanbod

€2,200-2,500 per month (excluding taxes) for a 30-hour workweek, plus full travel reimbursement.
