will support Level Five's
artist community by taking care of the studio infrastructure.
Level
Five is an artist cooperative committed to the development of
artistic practices in Brussels. We do this by providing space for
artists and a supportive environment for their work through artistic
development programs and artist advocacy. Founded by artists in 2019,
Level Five currently manages 3 studio buildings across 3 Brussels
municipalities, where we offer artist studios to over 100 artists. We
advocate for- and work towards- a sustainable infrastructure for
artistic practices in Brussels. We further support artists through
our cooperative culture so that they can be sustainable and
resilient.
Functieomschrijving
As
a studio coordinator, you are focused on the infrastructure and the
artists who have a studio at Level Five. This role requires both a
hands-on mentality and analytical skills to
approach what
you encounter in the right way.
You can keep an overview and anticipate all scenarios. You'll need
excellent communication and social skills to navigate the needs of a
large artist community and
bring
your own insights forward to
make clear what is (not) working and why. You are open to learning
everything from heating systems to accounting programs.
Flexibility, variety and versatility best describe the
challenge we have ready for you. You will be in contact with the
landlords of the properties, but most importantly, you will maintain
daily contact with Level Five's artist community. You will work
closely with the program coordinator and together form a team that
strengthens the foundation of Level Five as an organization and
shapes a supportive environment for artists.
- You are the first point of contact for questions from the site manager and artists regarding workspace
- You are responsible for the coordination of existing buildings under management
- You monitor energy consumption and identify irregularities or high costs
- You provide the building manager with information on rental issues, maintenance and defects.
- You communicate quickly and effectively with the broker about insurance issues and follow them up
- You manage the rental of studios in consultation with the location managers: advertising available studios, organizing viewing days and coordinating and following up the selection of new tenants
- You ensure, together with the location manager, a good introduction of new members
- You take care of the file of signed rental agreements with the artists and archive them
- You manage the deposit for the studios and keep it tidy
- You manage the keys
- You manage the membership database
- You manage the invoicing of the rents
- You support projects that promote the visibility of studio users
- As part coordinators team, you support the overall operation of Level Five.
- You see yourself evolving within this position and you are willing to help shape new challenges that Level Five's studio operation brings.
Profiel
- You are organizationally strong and enjoy working with artists
- You work problem-solving and have a positive attitude
- You have an excellent command of Office applications, especially Excel, knowledge of Adobe applications is a plus.
- You speak and write fluently in English and preferably also French and/or Dutch.
- You can work independently and in a team
- You live in Brussels
- Driving license B is a plus

Aanbod
- A 60% fixed term contract (1 year with an option to extend), starting from August 2024.
