Gallery FIFTY ONE specializes in 20th and 21st century photography and works on paper. Since 2014, the gallery also has a second exhibition space: FIFTY ONE TOO.
In 2018, the gallery launched '28 Vignon Street'; a new online art platform that responds to online developments in the art market.
Gallery FIFTY ONE will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2024-2025 and has built up a strong (inter)national reputation during that period.

Functieomschrijving
The employee provides general support within the organization. Furthermore, a large part of the permanent tasks will be as follows:
Logistical tasks:
- Packaging and shipping or e-commerce sales;
- Preparing all outgoing works of art for transport;
-assistance with all installation activities in the gallery, including vernissages and exhibitions;
- Responsible for the management & maintenance of the stock areas;
- Ordering packaging and archival materials if necessary;
- Maintenance & repair of the gallery walls after each exhibition and ensuring that the public spaces always neat and tidy.
Administrative tasks:
- Keeping up-to-date and input on our website, webshop and online art platform 28 Vignon Street; - inventory of the physical stock and input of data into our database;
- Management of the gallery's program and input of artworks on various art platforms such as Artnet, Artsy and Ocula, Vignon street and webshop
- Contact with publishers and bookstores regarding the purchase and distribution of our books.
Reception:
- Visitors and customers receive in the FIFTY ONE TOO gallery, during regular opening hours and vernissages.
Profiel
We are looking for someone who:
- Can work fluently with the computer. Experience with Mac Office and CMS is a plus;
- Has a proactive attitude and works very punctually;
- Is organized and stress-resistant;
- Has no problems with repetitive work;
- Has self-confidence and can work independently. Gallery FIFTY ONE works in a small team. Organized
- Bilingual (NL|Eng), with preferably a good knowledge of French.
Knowledge of recent photography history and a feel for the contemporary art scene in general is a plus, but not a must have either. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn who shows a strong interest in the gallery business.
The gallery is always open on Saturdays. Need to be available on Saturdays.
Aanbod
A fixed-term contract that, after discussion, can possibly be extended with a contract of indefinite duration.
5 fixed working days: from Tuesday to Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm, and with any additional flexibility to work during the nocturnes or during installations/de-installations, art fairs and special projects if necessary.
The salary is proportional to experience and according to the scales of joint committee 218.
