Xavier Hufkens is one of Europe’s leading galleries for contemporary art. Located in Brussels, the gallery maintains a diverse exhibition programme with solo exhibitions by multiple generations of leading contemporary artists and estates and participates in up to eight international Arts Fairs annually.
Functieomschrijving
We are looking for a creative digital professional to play a significant role in the gallery’s online strategy and serve as an imaging assistant and file manager, crucial to gallery operations. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and loves art, photography and organising. This individual must be detail-oriented, discrete and data-driven.
Duties include but not limited to
• Monitor and improve the gallery’s online presence, act as tone of voice guardian across digital platforms including the gallery’s website, social media and third party websites
• Select, edit, review and publish engaging and relevant quality digital content
• Develop audiences and partnerships to encourage growth across digital channels
• Provide insights and analytics for digital channels and produce regular reports
• Schedule on and off-site photography
• Source photographs of artworks and exhibition installations associated with gallery-represented artists
• Archive and distribute images throughout the gallery’s database and sales tools
• Manage the gallery’s library and artist’s archives
• Follow up on image requests, certificates of authenticity, provenance sheets and general research inquiries
• Assist the gallery’s team with IT related issues and maintenance
Profiel
• Awareness of latest developments and trends in digital technology and digital marketing
• Awareness of best practice in SEO, email marketing and web accessibility standards
• Good understanding of digital and social media metrics, analytics and benchmarks
• Good working knowledge of MacOSX, including proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, and basic digital photography skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (EN)
• Strong editorial skills to provide copy as needed for digital outlets
• Visually oriented and affinity with contemporary art
• Highly meticulous and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Aanbod
Position hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm. Candidate will occasionally need to work additional hours.
