Organisatie
Vanuit een voormalige suikerfabriek in Molenbeek experimenteert Decoratelier met ruimte. De organisatie, opgericht door scenograaf Jozef Wouters en technisch coördinator Menno Vandevelde, creëert gebouwde en ongebouwde ruimtes voor het werk van Jozef Wouters en dat van andere kunstenaars . Tegelijkertijd functioneert Decoratelier onder leiding van Marie Umuhoza en Vincent Focquet als artistiek platform voor diverse makers en als onderzoeksplek voor nightlife. Continue transformatie en diverse relaties met de omgeving staan centraal in de werking.
“Wat zou jij zijn als je een ruimte was?” Met het zomerfestival nodigt Decoratelier vijf kunstenaars uit om hun artistieke praktijk en netwerk ruimtelijk te maken. Vijf makers met uiteenlopende achtergronden en disciplines worden uitgedaagd om hun individuele werk te transformeren tot een platform, een ruimte die groter is dan ze zelf nodig hebben, een festival voor meer dan enkel hun eigen werk. Van 17 augustus tot 17 september, stellen ze elk een weekend samen die zich afspelen in een voor de gelegenheid gebouwde ruimte.

From an old sugar factory in Molenbeek, Decoratelier experiments with space. The organization, founded by scenographer Jozef Wouters and engineer Menno Vandevelde, built and unbuilt spaces for the work of Jozef Wouters and that of other artists . At the same time, Decoratelier, led by Marie Umuhoza and Vincent Focquet, functions as an artistic platform for various creators and a research place for nightlife. Continuous transformation and diverse relationships with the environment are central to its operation.
"What would you be if you were a space?" With the summer festival, Decoratelier invites five artists to spatialize their artistic practice and network. Five makers from diverse backgrounds and disciplines are challenged to transform their individual work into a platform, a space larger than they need for themselves, a festival for more than just their own work. From Aug. 17 to Sept. 17, they each put together a weekend set in a space built for the occasion.

Als technisch productiecoördinator van het zomerfestival overzie je het technische luik van het zomerfestival en stuur je een klein team techniekers aan. Je gaat mee in gesprek met kunstenaars en kan hun noden en dromen vertalen naar praktisch haalbare plannen. Je beheert de planning voor opbouw, afbraak en de uitvoering ter plaatse. Je verzamelt riders en zorgt dat al het nodige materiaal aanwezig is. Je beheert het technische budget.

As technical production coordinator of the summer festival, you will oversee the technical part of the summer festival and manage a small team of technicians. You participate in discussions with artists and are able to translate their needs and dreams into practically feasible plans. You manage the planning for construction, dismantling and on-site execution. You collect riders and ensure that all necessary material is present. You manage the technical budget.
