The Philippe Vandenberg Foundation supports the critical and historical appreciation of the work of Philippe Vandenberg while it connects and collects other artists’ legacies caretakers. Through this field-study initiated by the Foundation, you will actively contribute to the professionalisation of foundations, estates and other legacy initiatives and become one of the leading specialists in the field worldwide.
Functieomschrijving
The Philippe Vandenberg Foundation is looking for a motivated researcher for pioneering research in the emerging domain of artists’ estates, foundations and other initiatives for artists’ legacies. As a future specialist in the field, you will contribute to their initiatives with a field study that maps their practices.
The function consists of:
- Developing a methodology for the global mapping.
- Researching and documenting initiatives for artists’ legacies.
- Communicating your findings in written form.
- Disseminating your findings on a public website.
Period
- The research runs from the month of June to the end of August.
- A commitment of two full time months is expected, but the work rhythm can be determined in consultation with the foundation.
- The internship can take place in Philippe Vandenberg's studio or from home.

- You have an interest in art, artist’s legacy management and the functioning of the art world.
- You have excellent heuristics.
- You have excellent communication skills in English.
- You set the bar high but does not get lost in details.
- You have a great motivation to support artists’ legacies initiatives by collecting and sharing their practices.
