A Performance Affair
A Performance Affair (APA) is a flexible and dynamic platform for performance art. Set up as a non-for-profit organisation, APA is an evolving structure that brings together artists, galleries, curators, institutions, and collectors to display, research, and discuss current tendencies in performance art and the economic structures around it. A Performance Affair is not just another art fair, but a powerful stage aimed at stimulating the acquisition of performance art while finding solutions for its development and sustainability. Following last year's inaugural presentation of The Panopticon, APA's second edition, "re:production" will take place in the Vanderborght Building in collaboration with Brussels Gallery Weekend from 6 to 8 September 2019.
Functieomschrijving
We are looking for an intern who will support us in the research part of the event. A Performance Affair is a center point to gather all informations around the economy of performance. The intern will contribute to general research, contacting relevant stakeholders and helping finding participants in view of the Round Table taking place on Sunday 8 September.
Profiel
- Student in Art History, Curating or Philosophy would be best, but a strong knowledge and motivation to work around performance art and its economy will also be considered.
Motivation, attention to details and enjoying going in depth.
The intern needs to be flexible and can work independently.
The intern will work closely with the co-founders based in Antwerp and Brussels but can work remotely.
English is the working language, other languages is a plus.

A internship within an international ambitious association, which is part of the Brussels Gallery Weekend and has proven a very first successful edition. Great network opportunity and way to gain experience within this field.
The internship would ideally start as soon as possible and finish after the event mid-September but could continue. We are flexible and happy to discuss.
