Victor Hunt Designart Dealer’s services focus on the search for, issue and sale of limited editions by the most remarkable emerging designers, operating as a profound platform for development and documentation supported by an international exhibition program. Since the gallery’s inception in 2008, the collection has grown throughout all object typologies, representing a carefully curated collection of cutting-edge contemporary design. We understand “designart” as the gray zone between industrial design, crafts, architecture, sculpture, conceptual art, installation, and many other arts, but applied to or at least suggesting objects of use— developed and manufactured with the utmost care.

Brussels based Victor Hunt Designart Dealer seeks an intern to assist in its day-to-day operation and to the Gallery, Exhibition & Sales Manager in particular, offering the opportunity of a full- or part time internship for an enthusiastic individual to get hands-on experience at a specialist contemporary designart editor, dealer and consultant. The successful applicant will be involved and assist to the activities of the Gallery, Exhibition and Sales Manager besides various general day-to-day tasks to assist with the running of the gallery as needed. As intern to Gallery, Exhibition & Sales Manager you help ensure that sales opportunities reach full potential. You help develop business plans and sales strategy that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. You help prepare action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospects through collection expansions by assisting the Production and Curatorial management. You help initiate, execute and coordinate the development of these action plans through gallery exhibitions and trade fair participations. You help organize and execute events in all their aspects. You help create, manage and expand a network of - potential - clients and other stakeholders.

Profiel

We are looking for an enthusiast, flexible and hard-working person with a background in art history, design, art, communication or management. An interest for contemporary design is advised, as is knowledge of the international design/art field and the desire to learn more about the day-to-day operation of a contemporary design editor and gallery. Applicants must have experience with the applicable design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (CS5), Word & Excel, etc.

Aanbod

The position is unpaid, however reasonable food and travel expenses will be met. We promise an internship full of challenges, a chance to work in a young and ambitious company and diverse working environments in and near Brussels. The start date is as soon as possible.
