To maintain our national and international position, we are looking for a Balletmaster/mistress who can support the team of Kunsthuis Opera Ballet Flanders in picking up interessesting opportunities in a quickly changing environment.
Functieomschrijving
* Motivating and inspiring all dancers;
* Encouraging the development of the dancers and their skills;
* Teach, rehearse and coach the dancers for all designated productions and performances, as well as for the group passages as for the soloists and principals, and oversee their overall physical fitness;
* Being responsible for the artistic work and teaching it for reruns and tours;
* Assist at casting sessions and advise at recasts;
* Assist at auditions;
* Assist at evolution talks;
* Passing on cast changes to the staff as well as artistic team;
* Having the skills to oversee and create microplanning for rehearsals and performances, short term and long term;
* Having the skills to create casting sheets;
* Attend production meetings and being able to prepare studios for rehearsals according to production needs;
* Able to give thorough feedback and notes after performances - individually and group.
Profiel
* A proven track record in teaching, rehearsing and developing professional dancers at all levels, to the highest standards;
* Experience in pointe work teaching is a plus
* Experience in contemporary repertoire is recommended
* Have the ability to motivate and coach people to perform and achieve results;
* Having effective planning skills is a plus;
* You are available for all scheduled classes, rehearsals and performances, including evenings and weekends as required;
* You are flexible with working hours
* You have computer skills;
* Fluent in English;
* Good knowledge of Dutch, or the motivation to improve / develop your Dutch language skills.
